Wer einen eigenen Kampfanzug (Gi) besitzt, kann diesen gerne mitbringen. Das Tragen eines Mundschutzes und eines Tiefschutzes für die Herren wird empfohlen.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ is a development of traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. Today we are experiencing an immense increase in Jiu-Jitsu and BJJ in the martial arts scene. Development began in the early 90s in the USA by the Mixed-Martial-Arts-Organisation (UFC). By winning the title in the first and two subsequent UFC competitions, the fighter Royce Gracie was able to contribute greatly to the popularity and spread of the BJJ.
The BJJ is an effective self-defense, which makes the partner/opponent incapacitated by holding handles, levers, strangles and ground control. This makes it possible for the physically weaker in particular to dominate by applying the techniques in combat.
In the course, basic techniques and physical fitness are to be acquired. Participants should get to know and assess their body and abilities, as well as their resilience.
If you have your own fighting suit (Gi), you can bring it with you. Wearing a mouthguard and a deep protection for men is recommended.
