Note: German language skills are a prerequisite.
The climbing equipment is available in the climbing hall, but
no climbing shoes! Sportswear and fixed sneakers must be brought. Own climbing shoes are recommended. Due to the high demand, the course seat will be forfeit to a successor on the waiting list if you are not excused at the first appointment. The different course fees are based on the given framework conditions (e. g. number of admitted participants, number of dates, etc. ).
For safety reasons, the use of mobile phones during class is not permitted!

Information sheet on the structure of the climbing courses Level 1: Toprope climbing - learning basic climbing skills in the lower and medium difficulty range, equipment and materials, different belay techniques (dynamic belays and different semi-automatic belay devices), anchor methods, self-control and partercheck, fall exercises.
Level 2: Lead climbing - belaying and lead climbing, self-control and patner check, equipment knowledge, alternative belaying methods and techniques and abseiling.Prerequisite is previous participation in a Level 1 course.
Level 3: Various climbing techniques are repeated and deepened. Toprope and lead climbing, body and belaying, belaying, re belaying, self belaying, fall attempts, lead climbing with abseiling, rope team in action.Prerequisite is previous participation in a Level 1 course and a Level 2 course.
Technique training: targeted improvement of individual techniques in order to be able to move more precisely and efficiently on the wall.
Technique model: introduction to the basics of efficient climbing techniques. Precise stepping: How do you place your feet precisely on the smallest of footholds? Using your feet safely and economically is a prerequisite for effortless climbing.
Body position: Learn how to optimally shift your body's center of gravity in order to perform even demanding movements in a controlled and economical manner. Dynamic climbing and flow of movement: Learn to perform dynamic movements with control and the flow of movement helps you to save energy.
Prerequisite: safe lead climbing from grade 5 (UIAA) and own equipment (harness, shoes, belay device, carabiner, rope) or hire.
The entrance fees for the DAV climbing center are to be paid additionally on site, from 8.50€/day for DAV members and without DAV 14€/day.
Stronger climbing - from grade 6 to 7: The focus here is on climbing technique and tactics. To develop an efficient and economical climbing technique, we work on the basic features of the technique model as well as on advanced climbing techniques.
Tactics training is about making the most of available resources both when planning a route and when attempting to climb through.
In addition to the essential tactical and technical topics, we work on the basics of mental and physical skills.
Prerequisite: Climbing in the lead from grade 6 upwards and own equipment (harness, shoes, belay device, carabiner, rope) or hire.

Safety & fall training: Like climbing, belaying and falling also require regular training, because good belaying is much more than just “holding on to the rope”. If you regularly incorporate belay and fall training into your climbing, you won't be afraid of falling and can climb at your limit with a relaxed mind.
Contents include correct falling, soft belaying, belaying close to the ground, reliable belaying of a heavier climbing partner, soft belaying of a lighter climbing partner, when can/should I belay with a slack rope, when not, when should the rope be shortened, when not?
Prerequisite: completed lead climbing course, mastery of a belay device and safe climbing at least in the 5th degree. and own equipment (harness, shoes, belay device, carabiner, rope) or rental.
